One of the most requisite functions for nowadays surveillance operations, especially for unmanned systems, is target tracking and the video trackers are specially designed to fulfill this ever-growing demand in surveillance and monitoring market segment.
Set gimbal camera of UAVs as a example, the operation between tracker and gimbal system works like this: Users will manually lock on a moving target, and the tracker will send back target missing value to (x,y coordinates the target moves from the center of FOV) in pixels to MCU through serial port commands (either TTL or RS232), and the MCU will control the speed of the motor drivers by PID closed cycle, so that the gimbal will continuously face towards the target being locked.
By integrating the image processing module inside of the camera systems, users would easily lock and track any shaped moving target and, therefore, improve work efficiency of surveillance camera systems.
